VIDEO: Tax Hiker Molly Kelly Says She Won’t Raise Taxes…Until She Gets Elected

While New Hampshire Democrat gubernatorial candidate Molly Kelly tries to fool voters into believing she doesn’t want to raise their taxes, she hasn’t been able to hide her eagerness to do so if elected. New video of Kelly at a recent campaign event shows her lamenting New Hampshire voters’ insistence on taking the traditional pledge against broad-based tax hikes, saying it is “it is part of our culture, it is a very hard thing to change” adding that while they aren’t ready to do so, “maybe they will someday”:

AUDIENCE MEMBER: “Unless you take the pledge you have no shot at winning the election. Is that true?”

MOLLY KELLY: “You know I think that one thing that you can – you can say that – you can go there and say that and I understand. But I think you often have to be honest about where we are. It is part of our culture. It is a very hard thing to change. The people of the state have been real clear – they’re not ready. Maybe they will someday…”

This comes after Kelly previously claimed “everything is on the table” when it comes to income and sales taxes. Kelly’s comments show that despite her promise to sign New Hampshire’s customary pledge against tax hikes, which she has reportedly refused to follow through on, she remains hopeful to impose them on working families “someday.” After committing last week to repealing tax cuts on New Hampshire businesses and now signaling her hopes to impose tax hikes on working families, Molly Kelly has shown she can’t be trusted to protect New Hampshire taxpayers.
