Congressional Democrats are tripling down on their promise to roll back bonuses and pay raises for American workers while Michigan Democrat gubernatorial candidates stay silent. New video reported by NTK Network shows Nancy Pelosi pledging to repeal the recently passed GOP tax law should Democrats retake Congress this November. Pelosi, who has been a top fundraiser for the Democratic Governors Association, is sending a clear message that Democrats are committed to making the rollback of millions of dollars in salary increases for workers across the country one of their main tenets as a party.
Despite this, Michigan Democrat gubernatorial candidates Gretchen Whitmer, Shri Thanedar, and Abdul El-Sayed still refuse to say whether they support Pelosi and her allies’ proposals. With employers like Fiat Chrysler announcing $1 billion in new investments for their Michigan plant while giving $2000 bonuses to their workers, voters deserve to know if Democrats running for governor will reverse these positive developments for the state’s economy. Whitmer, Thanedar, and El-Sayed should stop hiding and answer the simple question: Do they stand with Michigan workers? Or with Nancy Pelosi and her allies in Washington D.C.?
