RGA Statement on Andy Beshear Campaigning with Cinde Warmington

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Republican Governors Association (RGA) released the following statement in response to Democratic Governors Association Chair Andy Beshear campaigning with Opioid Lobbyist Cinde Warmington today in New Hampshire:

“It’s only fitting that Opioid Lobbyist Cinde Warmington’s first surrogate, Governor Andy Beshear, comes with his own Purdue Pharma baggage. Warmington’s record is disqualifying enough on its own, but together they make the contrast crystal clear: when it mattered, they stood with the notorious pill mill, not the people who paid the price,” said RGA Communications Director Kollin Crompton.

Background:

Beshear has his own complicated past with Purdue Pharma. He  was a partner at a Kentucky law firm that represented the notorious company and then had to recuse himself regarding a settlement between the company and the state.

While that seems to be old news in Kentucky, the fact that Warmington would link arms with another Purdue Pharma tainted politician given her incredible weakness in this area is eye-opening.

Voters deserve to know why Cinde Warmington continues to flaunt her past work for the company responsible for the opioid crisis rather than apologizing for it and answering whether she still thinks OxyContin is a miracle drug.
