GOV. SCOTT WALKER: TRUE INDEPENDENCE COMES FROM SELF-DETERMINATION, NOT THE GOVERNMENT

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Republican Governors Association today launched the next video of the American Comeback project, a national advertising effort designed to tell the success stories and accomplishments of Republican governors.

In this week’s featured ad of the American Comeback project, RGA Vice Chairman and Governor of Wisconsin Scott Walker speaks about staying focused and optimistic in the face of adversity and discusses his vision for a future where people succeed through independence from the grasp of the government.

“I believe the vast majority of people today who are dependent on government don’t want to be. They understand just like the rest of us that true independence doesn’t come from the mighty hand of the government. It comes from that self-determination,” said Governor Walker.

“I think that’s not just a conservative or a Republican principle. I think it’s an American principle, the idea of helping people transition from government dependence to true independence.” Governor Walker added.

“The answers aren’t coming from Washington. Republican governors are going to drive America’s comeback,” Governor Walker concluded.

In the coming weeks and months, the American Comeback project will grow to include more videos focused on individual Republican governors, their personal journeys and the progress they’ve made toward bringing prosperity to their states.
