The Republican Governors Association launched a new television advertisement highlighting remarks Creigh Deeds made to reporters after they caught him making deceitful comments about his plans to raise taxes.
The ad can be viewed at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3kizlPofV9A and its viral component can be seen at www.DeedsUncut.com.
“Trying to be all things to all people finally caught up to Creigh Deeds,” said RGA communications director Mike Schrimpf. “When caught talking out of both sides of his mouth, he snapped.”
“If it wasn’t already clear, Deeds’ self-inflicted meltdown proved once and for all that he isn’t ready to be governor,” Schrimpf continued. “You don’t even have take our word for it, just watch the full clip at www.DeedsUncut.com and decide for yourself.”
“Until now, Deeds had run a highly disciplined campaign. He committed to not providing a transportation plan and he steadfastly refused to admit he’d hike taxes,” Schrimpf said. “So it was a little surprising that when Deeds’ finally blew up, he did so in such dramatic fashion.”
“Maybe he didn’t know the cameras were on,” Schrimpf concluded.
