Wisconsin Dem Gov Candidates Remain Silent On Plans To Reverse Pay Raises, Hike Taxes On Working Families

It’s been weeks since Congressional Democrats unveiled their plan to raise taxes should they secure majorities in this year’s November elections, but Wisconsin’s Democrat gubernatorial candidates still remain silent on their proposals. While Wisconsin workers and families are earning more money and paying less taxes due to the GOP’s recent tax overhaul, Dana Wachs, Mahlon Mitchell, Andy Gronik, and Tony Evers have refused to admit if they would reverse these positive developments.

Just this week, Wells Fargo, which has 51 bank locations in Wisconsin, announced it would boost compensation for tens of thousands of its employees while raising its minimum wage to $15 an hour as a direct result of the GOP tax reform. Even more good news came yesterday when the Tax Policy Center released an analysis showing that nearly two-thirds of U.S. households would receive tax cuts due to tax reform.

Despite these positive results for the people of Wisconsin, Democrat gubernatorial candidates in the state still refuse to say if they would support Congressional Democrats’ plans to raise taxes. Wisconsin voters deserve to know where they stand.
