Tom Perriello Touts Obamacare Architect’s Endorsement Despite Law’s Unpopularity In Virginia

Today, failed former congressman Tom Perriello is proudly touting the endorsement of the far-left Center for American Progress CEO Neera Tanden for his gubernatorial campaign in Virginia. Tanden most recently worked on Hillary Clinton’s failed presidential bid and has spent years advising high-ranking Democrats to implement extreme, far-left policies at the expense of hard-working taxpayers.

Tanden’s support for Perriello is far from surprising, not only because they were colleagues at the same liberal think tank, but because Tanden was one of the architects of the failed Obamacare law Tom Perriello voted for. Tanden was a key advisor to failed Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius during the law’s passage and has continued to defend the law. Most recently, Tanden raised eyebrows on the topic by claiming that protecting Obamacare was about “government overreach.”

Perriello has remained an ardent supporter of Obamacare, despite the fact that Virginia premiums are set to skyrocket. Not only has Perriello remained unrepentant for his vote, now he’s touting the support of the law’s far-left authors, hoping it will aid in his race to the left against Ralph Northam. But with polls showing that 67 percent for Virginians favor repealing the law, Perriello’s decision to make his support for Obamacare a key issue shows how out-of-touch he is with mainstream Virginia.
