67 Percent of Virginia Voters Favor Repeal of Obamacare As Perriello & Northam Double Down On Their Support

A new poll out today in the Virginia governor’s race contains some bad news for Tom Perriello and Ralph Northam’s race to the Left.

According to the poll from Christopher Newport University, 67 percent of Virginia voters favor repeal of Obamacare – the failed health law that has led to massive premium hikes for Virginia families. Even Democrats are slamming Obamacare, including former President Bill Clinton who called it a “crazy system,” and Minnesota’s Democrat Governor who noted that Obamacare was “no longer affordable” and contains “some serious blemishes and serious deficiencies.”

Meanwhile, Democrat gubernatorial candidates Tom Perriello and Ralph Northam are doubling down on their support of Obama’s failed health law. Perriello tweeted just this past Tuesday that he was “proud” to have cast his vote for Obamacare as a member of Congress, and Ralph Northam encouraged others to sign up on the last day of enrollment, reiterating his support for Obamacare after calling it a “huge step in the right direction.”

Once again, this poll proves Perriello and Northam are out-of-touch with the people of Virginia and if elected as governor, would force far-left policies on Virginia families.

CNU Poll: 67 Percent Of Virginia Voters Favor Repeal Of Obamacare. “The Fate of Obamacare: Voters Say Repeal with Replacement, and Keep Some Popular Parts. Fully two-in-three (67%) Virginia voters support repealing the Affordable Care Act….“Virginians are mostly resigned to the fact that Congress is going to repeal the Affordable Care Act,” said Dr. Rachel Bitecofer, assistant director of the Wason Center.” (Christopher Newport University, 2/2/2017)

Obamacare Is Forcing Unaffordable Premium Hikes In Virginia. “Health insurance plans in the Affordable Care Act’s marketplace could cost an average of 16 percent more next year, according to preliminary filings submitted to Virginia’s Bureau of Insurance. Those increased costs for insurers are not only being passed on to consumers through premium increases, but they also are causing companies to reduce their overheads in other ways, such as merging.” (Katie Demeria, “ACA Health Insurance Premiums Expected To Go Up And Average 16 Percent Next Year,” Richmond Times-Dispatch, 6/15/2016)

Just This Week, Tom Perriello Tweeted That He Was “Proud” To Cast His Vote For Obamacare. “I’m proud of my votes to help pass President Obama’s historic health care reform – today I took a few minutes to enroll myself.” (@TomPerriello, 1/31/2017)

Also Just This Week, Ralph Northam Encouraged Virginians To Sign Up For Obamacare. “Today is the LAST DAY to register for healthcare through the Affordable Care Act. Sign up before it’s too late.” (@RalphNortham, 1/31/2017)

Ralph Northam Supported ObamaCare And Called It A “Huge Step In The Right Direction.” “As a practicing physician, I congratulate President Obama for his leadership on the Affordable Care Act, and I am proud that I voted against efforts to block the Act’s implementation in Virginia. Our health care system was broken, and President Obama has taken a huge step in the right direction toward providing access to high quality, affordable health care for all Americans.” (Northam For Lt. Governor Website, 6/11/13)

Ralph Northam Stated That Obamacare Included Some “Great Things” And That He Was A “Big Fan” Of Obamacare. “Northam said there are some ‘great things’ about the Affordable Care Act…”I’m a big fan of the Affordable Care Act.” (Sherese Gore, “Northam Talks Affordable Care Act, Medicaid At Lynchburg Democratic Committee Dinner, The News & Advance, 9/20/2015)

Former President Bill Clinton Called Obamacare A “Crazy System” That Raised Premiums. “So you’ve got this crazy system where all of a sudden 25 million more people have health care and then the people who are out there busting it, sometimes 60 hours a week, wind up with their premiums doubled and their coverage cut in half. It’s the craziest thing in the world,’ Clinton said.” (Naomi Lim, “Bill Clinton Calls Obamacare Craziest Thing In The World,” CNN, 10/5/2016)

Minnesota’s Democrat Governor Mark Dayton Stated That Obamacare “No Longer Affordable.” “The reality is the Affordable Care Act is no longer affordable to increasing numbers of people.” (Erin Golden, “Dayton Says Affordable Care Act Has Become Unaffordable,” Star Tribune, 10/12/2016)
