RGA Statement On Tennessee Democrats Nominating Left-Wing, Big-Government Politician Karl Dean for Governor

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Republican Governors Association released the following statement regarding Tennessee Democrats selecting left-wing politician Karl Dean as their nominee for governor:

“Democrat Karl Dean is just another left-wing, big-government politician who will break his promises, dodge accountability and raise taxes,” said RGA Communications Director Jon Thompson. “As Mayor of Nashville, Dean betrayed his promise not to hike property taxes, increased spending by hundreds of millions of dollars, saddled the city with nearly a billion dollars in additional debt and stood by as Nashville’s bond rating was downgraded on his watch. Karl Dean will take Tennessee backwards, and his record makes it clear that he simply does not believe in the policies that have made Tennessee the economic engine it is today.”
