WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Republican Governors Association (RGA) released the following response to Jerry Demings launching a gubernatorial campaign in Florida:
“Florida Democrats are clearly unimpressed with David Jolly’s Charlie Crist impersonation and find themselves flailing to find a candidate for governor who has been a Democrat for more than five minutes. So, into this talentless chasm of despair steps the one man who wants to run for literally anything that isn’t his current job: Jerry Demings,” said RGA Communications Director Courtney Alexander.
“Florida Democrats’ agenda has been repeatedly rejected by the voters and they have no record to run on but failure, making Jerry Demings the perfect addition to a primary field with no meaningful accomplishments beyond self-promotion. Demings is all but guaranteed to help set a new all-time low for a state Democrat Party that regularly feels compelled to test the absolute floor of support.”
