Refusal To Release LG Investigation Continues To Haunt Pennsylvania Dem Gov Tom Wolf

Pennsylvania Democrat Governor Tom Wolf is again under fire for his refusal to release a taxpayer-funded investigation into his Lieutenant Governor’s alleged mistreatment of state troopers.

ABC 27 is reporting that public records requests as to how much this investigation cost taxpayers are being denied because Wolf’s Inspector General did not “document how many tax dollars were spent investigating accusations Lieutenant Governor Mike Stack and his wife Tonya mistreated their staff and State Police detail.”

Tom Wolf pledged during the 2014 campaign that he would make transparency a centerpiece of his administration. As it turns out, Wolf has no qualms breaking his promises.

ABC 27 further notes that the Inspector General is refusing to publish even a summary of its investigation, breaking Wolf’s own transparency guidelines.

“In 2015, the Office of Inspector General announced it would publish summaries of investigations as part of the Wolf administration’s push for transparency. There has not been a summary published for the Stack investigation. Madden said he could not speculate about whether a summary would be published in the future.”

Tom Wolf’s decision to conceal the results of a taxpayer funded investigation shows that his administration is afraid of the investigation’s findings, and that Wolf has no problem breaking his campaign pledges to protect political allies alleged to have abused their power.
