RATINGS CHANGE: Larry Sabato’s Crystal Ball Moves Arizona Governor’s Race From “Lean GOP” To “Likely GOP”

According to a new race ranking from Larry Sabato’s Crystal Ball, the Arizona governor’s race continues to move in the GOP direction. This morning, Crystal Ball upgraded Governor Doug Ducey’s re-election chances from “Leans Republican” to “Likely Republican,” signaling that Ducey is on track to hold the governor’s office, even with a competitive senate race.

Ducey’s Democrat opponent, David Garcia, has embraced the radical left, supporting the abolish ICE movement, opposing the border wall, and advocating for big tax hikes. Crystal Ball explains that Ducey’s campaign has “opened up a lead in what seems to be the mid-to-high single digits.”

Just yesterday, a new poll from the Arizona Republic found Ducey holding a “commanding” 12-point lead in the race.
