More national political observers are souring on Democrat Governor Gina Raimondo’s re-election chances.
This morning, The Cook Political Report downgraded Rhode Island’s race rating from “Likely Democrat” To “Lean Democrat,” noting that the race will be competitive this November. This comes shortly after Inside Elections also moved Rhode Island from “Likely Democrat” to “Leans Democrat” in its race ratings.
With polls showing Raimondo as one of the most unpopular Democrat governors in the country as her administration remains plagued by scandals and management failures, the Rhode Island gubernatorial race represents a top pick-up opportunity for Republicans this year.
