Ohio Democrat gubernatorial candidate Richard Cordray continues to face growing criticism for comparing Republicans to Nazis and the Holocaust on at least two occasions. Cordray has refused to apologize after he was caught on video equating local Republicans to Nazi collaborators for not opposing Governor John Kasich’s policies while also comparing the White House to Nazis and the Holocaust.
NBC Columbus reports that Cordray “has yet to back down” from his Nazi comments when asked about the controversy this weekend. Instead of apologizing, Cordray merely claimed “nobody’s perfect,” continuing to dismiss the outcry over his offensive remarks.
Cordray’s comments have been widely condemned, with The Cincinnati Enquirer and The Toledo Blade both publishing editorials criticizing him over the issue, while a Washington Examiner column took note of Cordray’s “Nazi problem,” blasting him for slandering his “opponents by invoking the spirit of Hitler.” As he refuses to apologize for his statements, Cordray continues to demonstrate an alarming lack of judgement and character, further proving why he is unfit to lead.
