The Republican Governors Association began airing a new television ad in the Washington governor’s race today, highlighting Democratic candidate Jay Inslee’s record of raising taxes on small businesses and support for an $800 billion spending bill that failed to deliver its promised results.

“Jay Inslee always tries hard, but he makes too many expensive mistakes to be governor,” said RGA communications director Mike Schrimpf. “Inslee raised taxes on small businesses in the middle of the worst economic downturn since the Great Depression, and he voted to squander $800 billion in taxpayer money on a spending bill that failed to deliver on promised jobs.”
“Washington faces too many fiscal and economic challenges to risk putting Jay Inslee in charge,” Schrimpf concluded.
