– Third Ad Cites Loss of NCR, Fischbein & Novelis Jobs –
“Four years ago, Ted Strickland promised to create thousands of new jobs for Ohio. Sadly, not only has he broken that promise, he has also overseen the loss of hundreds of thousands of existing jobs. He’s left Ohioans disappointed and wondering when their own jobs will disappear.”
— Tim Murtaugh, Republican Governors Association
The Republican Governors Association today launched a new television ad highlighting Ohio Governor Ted Strickland’s record of losing 400,000 jobs on his watch. The ad cites jobs losses at the specific companies NCR, Fischbein and Novelis among the total. The ad, titled “Gone,” can be found online at www.TedFailedOhio.com, along with two previous RGA ads.
“Four years ago, Ted Strickland promised to create thousands of new jobs for Ohio,” said Tim Murtaugh, spokesman for the Republican Governors Association. “Sadly, not only has he broken that promise, he has also overseen the loss of hundreds of thousands of existing jobs. He’s left Ohioans disappointed and wondering when their own jobs will disappear.”
The ad is set in an office environment with three employees having a conversation about the bleak employment situation under Strickland’s administration. The workers note that NCR, Fischbein and Novelis have all moved jobs from Ohio to Georgia recently. The spot ends with a man wondering when their own jobs will be driven elsewhere.
“Ted Strickland’s failures have led to a period of tremendous concern and uncertainty for Ohio families,” Murtaugh said. “Ohioans deserve a lot better.”
