New RGA Ad: Fed Up

The Republican Governors Association launched a television advertisement in Maine shining a light on Libby Mitchell’s support raising taxes and increasing spending.  The RGA has already run two ads highlighting Republican candidate Paul LePage’s background and plan to get Augusta working again, which make him the right candidate to become the next governor of Maine.

“Libby Mitchell may not understand why the people of Maine are fed up with more taxes, but Paul LePage does,” said RGA spokesman Chris Schrimpf.  “Libby Mitchell pushed a more than $200 million increase in the sales tax and she has supported higher income taxes.  When that wasn’t enough she piled more debt onto the backs of Maine residents.  Paul LePage will restore fiscal sanity to Augusta and help create jobs.”

A script of the ad is available below:

Libby Mitchell: “Fed up with taxes.  Now, what does that mean?”

Libby Mitchell doesn’t get it, because she’s been in Augusta for decades,

Supported an income and sales-tax hike,

 Libby pushed more spending.

Debt is now $9 billion dollars; that’s $760 for every Mainer, every man, woman and child.  And still she asks:

“Fed up with taxes.  Now, what does that mean?”

Libby Mitchell: higher taxes, more spending.  That should be easy to understand.
