The Republican Governors Association launched a new television advertisement today highlighting Jon Corzine’s failure to reform property taxes and curtail corruption in New Jersey. The ad can be viewed at http://www.jerseypays.com/splash.
“There’s no denying that Jon Corzine has failed as governor,” said RGA communications director Mike Schrimpf. “But what’s startling is that Corzine has failed so badly even on the issues that matter most to New Jerseyans: taxes and corruption.”
“Before taking office, Jon Corzine knew that New Jersey was overtaxed and corruption was rampant,” Schrimpf continued. “In fact, he even promised to lower taxes and clean up the state.”
“Jon Corzine failed,” Schrimpf said. “He raised taxes by billions, he eliminated property tax rebates for middle class homeowners, and corruption is still widespread – even among Corzine’s allies. One of Corzine’s own cabinet members had his home raided by the FBI.”
“Corzine is either incompetent or he just doesn’t care. Either way, New Jersey suffers.”
