For months, far-left Democrat Stacey Abrams’ rampant transparency issues have been a major source of concern for her Georgia gubernatorial campaign as she refuses to explain why she loaned her campaign $50,000 while owing the IRS $54,000 in unpaid taxes.
Now, a new report by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution further highlights Abrams’ alarming lack of transparency, noting that she made nearly $500,000 from her tax-exempt foundations, Third Sector Development and the New Georgia Project, between 2013 and 2016 from political contributions whose donors were not made public. This would put her in some of the state’s upper income brackets for those years, explaining where she got the money to contribute to her own gubernatorial campaign, but it doesn’t explain why she chose not to pay off her delinquent tax debt to the IRS.
Abrams continues to show no interest in giving real answers to the people of Georgia about her refusal to pay her own taxes. As she campaigns on imposing new tax hikes on working families, Abrams’ alarming lack of transparency further shows that she can’t be trusted to lead.
