Maine’s lobstermen and lobsterwomen cannot catch a break.
The lobster industry, already threatened by Biden’s planned 950 square mile fishing ban in the Gulf of Maine, was hit again on Friday. Governor Mills asked the President to approve a federal lease for an experimental offshore wind test site that promises to decimate the state’s fishing industry.
I got a feeling there are gonna be lots of fishing communities voting red in 2022.
“Janet Mills is making good on her 2018 campaign promise to force lobstermen and lobsterwomen to ‘look for alternative sources of income,’ as she shuts down the fishing industry,” said RGA spokesman Will Reinert. “What areas Biden’s lobster fishing ban does not cover, Janet Mills will be sure to destroy for lobstering with her offshore wind plan.”
