Marriott To Build New $600M HQ In Larry Hogan’s Pro-Business Maryland

In a big win for GOP Governor Larry Hogan’s pro-business policies, Marriott announced today that they will stay in Maryland and build a new $600 million headquarters in Bethesda, which will house over 3500 jobs.

Since winning the Maryland governorship in 2014, Governor Hogan has reformed Maryland and made the state more business friendly by reducing burdensome taxes and cutting unnecessary regulations.

And Maryland voters have reiterated that they strongly approve of these reforms, as a recent Washington Post poll showed Governor Hogan with a 71% job approval rating, making him one of the most popular Maryland governors in the past 30 years.

Time and again, Governor Hogan has proven that Republicans can win, be successful, get results and govern effectively – even in blue states.

WTOP reports:

“In a big win for Montgomery County, Maryland, Marriott International has announced it will build a new, $600 million headquarters in downtown Bethesda. Marriott has not chosen an exact location. It says it is considering several sites, and will make its final selection in the first half of 2017. Marriott has called Bethesda is headquarters home for more than 60 years. In announcing its headquarters search, Marriott had said it remained committed to staying in the Washington region, but did not commit to Maryland. Marriott employs more than 3,500 people at its Bethesda headquarters.”
