Janet Mills saw Transportation Secretary Buttigieg’s tone-deaf comments about electric vehicles, with an average price tag of $50k, being the solution for struggling families facing record gas prices.
Now Governor Mills believes Mainers should do the same, according to a just released report, stating that there is “not much I can do about gas prices” and that she wants to “ween people off of heating oil, trying to encourage electric vehicles, use of electric vehicles.”
Of course, this comes after Mills proposed raising Maine’s gas tax even higher to make it even more unaffordable for families & seniors at the pump.
“The average Mainer does not have the financial resources to buy an electric vehicle with an average price tag of $50,000, but all Janet Mills remains worried about is mirroring D.C. Democrats’ out of touch comments to struggling Americans,” said RGA spokesman Will Reinert. “Janet Mills wants every person in the state to drive an electric vehicle and she will stop at nothing to make it happen, regardless of the high costs.”
