GOP Governor Greg Abbott Leads Texas To Record Low Unemployment

Thanks to GOP Governor Greg Abbott’s pro-growth policies, the Texas economy is booming with record job growth. New October jobs numbers show that the Lone Star State’s unemployment rate has dropped to a record low 3.9%, with job growth accelerating at nearly double the national rate. In total, Texas gained over 71,000 jobs in October alone, bringing the state’s yearly total to over 300,000 jobs added. Texas’ booming economy further shows that Governor Abbott’s pro-jobs leadership is getting real results for the people of his state.

The Houston Chronicle reports:

“The state unemployment rate fell to a record low in October, slipping below 4 percent for the first time in more than 40 years, the Texas Workforce Commission reported Friday.

Unemployment declined to 3.9 percent from 4 percent as employment growth accelerated to an annual rate of 2.6 percent, nearly double the national rate 1.4 percent. All told, the state gained more than 71,000 jobs over the month and has added more than 300,000 over the past year, the Workforce Commission said.”
