With polls showing his approval rating above 70 percent, GOP Governor Charlie Baker continues to receive growing signs of support from across the political spectrum in Massachusetts. The Associated Press reports that 10 Democrat Massachusetts mayors, including the mayor of the state’s’ third-largest city, have formally endorsed Governor Baker’s re-election. As he remains committed to growing Massachusetts’ economy through bipartisan, pro-jobs policies, America’s most popular governor finds himself in an increasingly strong position for re-election.
The Associated Press reports:
“Republican Gov. Charlie Baker’s campaign says 22 Massachusetts mayors, including 10 Democrats, have endorsed his re-election campaign.
Among the Democrats announcing their backing of the governor Thursday over his Democratic challenger, Jay Gonzalez, was Springfield’s Domenic Sarno, the mayor of the state’s third-largest city.
There are 47 mayors overall in Massachusetts. The Democratic mayors of Revere, Fall River, Fitchburg, Woburn, Newburyport, Lawrence, Lowell, Westfield and Braintree also endorsed Baker, along with seven mayors who are independents and five Republicans.”
