Upon entering the Florida Democrat gubernatorial race, Gwen Graham was widely viewed as the “nominal front-runner” by the state’s political establishment.
But, while her main opponents, Philip Levine and Andrew Gillum, have dominated earned and paid media, Graham has consistently struggled to attract base enthusiasm amid repeated episodes of hypocrisy and devastating attacks on her for flip-flopping on key issues.
Now, today’s Democrat gubernatorial debate has become very important for Graham’s future. According to one prominent Florida political analyst, Graham “has the most to prove” and, the most to lose, at the debate.
But, unless Graham has a breakout performance that fundamentally shakes up the race, than her tiny remaining window of opportunity will continue to close.
