Weeks ago, Deval Patrick criticized ads run by the RGA saying, “I have a feeling that if he asked the RGA to cut it out they would.” He went on to say that “If anyone tries to run them on my behalf … I will do what I would like to see Charlie Baker do, which is denounce them and ask that they be stopped.”
Now the DGA is running ads and Patrick is silent.
“Maybe this is one campaign promise Patrick can fulfill,” said RGA spokesman Chris Schrimpf. “Four years ago, he said he was going to change business as usual on Beacon Hill, but after he was elected one of the first things he did was redecorate his office, then he increased his staff payroll. Bay Staters are used to seeing him go back on his promises, but I have a feeling that if Deval Patrick asked the DGA to cut it out they would.”
