Connecticut Dem Gov Candidates Won’t Be Able To Run From Failed Governor Dan Malloy’s Toxic Record

This past weekend, Failed Democrat Governor Dan Malloy issued his stamp of approval on the current field of Democrat gubernatorial candidates running to replace him, claiming that “all the Democrats I consider good and viable candidates.” Malloy’s comments make it clear that the eventual nominee can count on the full-throated backing and attachment of America’s most unpopular Democrat governor, due to their commitment to standing by his catastrophic policies. Every single one of the Democrats running for governor has done their best to promote Malloy’s failed agenda on the campaign trail. Here’s a look at just some of the things that Democrat candidates have done to earn the support of their party’s failed governor:

LUKE BRONIN:

A former staffer to the failed governor, Malloy Protégé Luke Bronin has followed his mentor’s playbook closely as Mayor of Hartford, driving the city into fiscal ruin through reckless tax-and-spend policies. As he aims to leave the city to pursue his own political ambitions, Bronin’s Hartford remains at a high risk for bankruptcy with a “junk” bond rating that threatens its future.

DITA BHARGAVA:

Liberal hedge fund manager Dita Bhargava made clear her commitment to standing by Malloy’s tax-and-spend agenda after she indicated in an October interview that she was open to raising taxes in order to get “new revenue to our state,” repeating the same language Malloy has used in the past to hide his tax hikes on Connecticut citizens.

DAN DREW:

Since launching his gubernatorial campaign, Dan Drew has made it clear that he would double-down on Malloy’s failed policies, declaring his support of even more tax hikes despite the negative impact they’ve had on Connecticut’s economy and budget. As Middletown Mayor, Drew has also consistently pushed for additional municipal taxes on his city’s citizens, despite the massive tax burden already placed on them by Malloy.
