You won’t believe this, but career political insider Terry McAuliffe spent the first day of his general election campaign lying to voters.
On both MSNBC and Gray TV, he once again erroneously claimed that he entered office faced with a record deficit and turned it into a surplus. One small problem: this has been debunked by Politifact three separate times.

“A tale as old as time: career political insider spends his first day of the campaign openly lying to voters,” said RGA Spokesperson Maddie Anderson. “Terry McAuliffe’s claim that he turned a deficit into a surplus is a shameless lie that has been thoroughly and repeatedly debunked by the mainstream media. If McAuliffe is willing to lie about things so easily disproven, it begs the question: what won’t he lie about?”
