The Republican Governors Association launched a new television advertisement today comparing Jon Corzine’s record of high taxes and skyrocketing unemployment with Chris Christie’s plan to lower taxes and grow jobs.
“It’s not surprising that New Jersey has lost hundreds of thousands of jobs after Jon Corzine raised taxes by billions,” said RGA communications director Mike Schrimpf. “But it is shocking that a so-called financial wizard like Jon Corzine still hasn’t learned his lesson and refuses to rule out more tax hikes next year.”
“Jon Corzine managing the state for four more years would be worse than allowing John Dillinger to guard Fort Knox,” Schrimpf added.
“Chris Christie’s record is exactly the opposite of Corzine’s. For years, Christie has protected the taxpayers from waste and fraud,” Schrimpf said. “He is the only candidate ready to provide real tax relief and add more jobs.”
