Congressman Jay Inslee granted a head-scratching interview with Grist in which he defended the federal government’s failed $535 million taxpayer-funded loan to now-bankrupt Solyndra.
In fact, Grist reported:
What does he think about Solyndra? Innovation is risky by nature, he said. “If you’re not suffering losses” when investing in cutting-edge companies, “then the program is probably ineffective.”
“After more than a decade in Washington, D.C., it’s clear that Congressman Jay Inslee has lost touch with what it means to be a sound steward of the taxpayers’ money,” said RGA spokesman Mike Schrimpf. “If Jay Inslee thinks the only way for government to be effective is by wasting money, then he certainly can’t be trusted to solve the state of Washington’s $2 billion budget deficit.”
