Republican Businessman Bill Lee’s lead in the Tennessee governor’s race continues to grow, according to a new NBC News/Marist poll. Lee now leads his liberal Democrat opponent, Karl Dean, 57 percent to 40 percent.
“That 17 point margin for Lee is even greater than his 13 point advantage in late August,” reports NBC News.
Bill Lee has run a strong campaign highlighting his status as an outsider and a business leader, drawing a stark contrast with Karl Dean’s liberal views and tenure as a big-city politician. As this poll shows, Tennesseans know that Lee is the best candidate to continue the progress made under Governor Bill Haslam, and his message is resonating with voters.
