Colorado Democrat gubernatorial nominee Jared Polis continues to dodge questions about how his radical and out-of-touch energy policies would destroy jobs and burden working families with higher energy prices.
At an energy conference earlier today, Polis stuck to his “prepared remarks” and then refused to even acknowledge questions from reporters, leading one reporter to joke that Polis had mistaken them for the Western Slope’s Club 20.
Polis is dodging questions on energy because he doesn’t want Coloradans to find out about just how extreme he is on the issue.
Here are just a few examples of Jared Polis’s radical energy policies that he desperately wants to hide from Colorado voters:
$45 Billion Mandate: Polis has proposed a radical renewable energy mandate that would cost Colorado’s working families an eye-popping $45 billion and put thousands of energy jobs at risk.
Energy Tax: Polis thinks Coloradans should pay more in taxes on their energy bills. In Congress, he has long been one of the most vocal supporters of a carbon tax.
Backdoor Ban On Fracking: Polis bankrolled a ballot initiative that would have amounted to a backdoor ban on fracking. Even Colorado Democrat Governor John Hickenlooper was highly critical of Polis’s policy, calling them “radical” and “extreme measures that would drive oil and gas out of Colorado.”
Jordan Cove Project: Polis has refused to support the proposed Jordan Cove liquified natural gas facility that would “be a boon to the Western Slope” according to local officials.
