While far-left California billionaire Tom Steyer visited Columbia last night to push his radical job-killing agenda to South Carolina voters, the state’s Democrat gubernatorial candidates remained silent on his visit and whether they support his out-of-touch agenda. But while James Smith, Phil Noble, and Marguerite Willis were unwilling to tell voters where they stand, another state Democrat leader had no problem making his views known.
The State reports that South Carolina House Democrat Leader Todd Rutherford was not only in attendance at Steyer’s town hall but he enthusiastically backed Steyer’s radical agenda, including his calls to impeach the president. Rutherford has been a staunch supporter of James Smith, who has thus far remained silent on whether he plans on promoting Steyer’s far-left policies.
If other prominent Democrat leaders around South Carolina are willing to make their views known and publicly stand by Steyer’s extreme agenda, the party’s three Democrat gubernatorial candidates have no excuse to remain silent. If they plan on accepting the support of Steyer and his super PAC, voters deserve to know if they agree with him.
