Typically, when incumbent governors run for re-election, they tout their achievements to convince voters that they deserve another term.
But not so for Alaska’s “Independent” Governor Bill Walker, whose record of massive deficits, high unemployment, and skyrocketing crime is so bad that even he doesn’t want to run on it.
Yesterday, Walker released a new campaign ad that trashed his own record. Throughout the dark and gloomy video, Walker flashed headlines reminding Alaskans that their state has been in “crisis” under his leadership. Remarkably, Walker choose to juxtapose this image with his 2014 campaign speeches, further highlighting how little he has achieved in his term.
Walker may think that Alaskans are willing to tolerate another four years of his failed policies. But, based off his poor approval ratings, this seems like a bad bet. Alaskans deserve a fresh start this November, and that begins with firing Bill Walker from the governorship.
