As Democrat Connecticut gubernatorial candidate and Middletown mayor Dan Drew continues to take heat for his unethical and possibly unlawful attempt to shake down city employees, Connecticut Democrats are still dealing with legal issues related to their current Failed Governor, Dan Malloy. The CT Post reports that the Connecticut Democrat Party just paid off what election authorities called a $325,000 “penalty,” stemming from a complaint during Malloy’s 2014 gubernatorial campaign:

Even after Malloy faced highly public legal issues for the 2014 election, eventually leading to a federal criminal investigation into his campaign activities, Connecticut Democrats like Dan Drew continue to follow his example, playing fast and loose with state election laws. Connecticut deserves a leader who will make every effort to uphold the public’s trust and the rule of law, but Dan Drew’s actions have already shown that he is unable to do so.
