After four unremarkable years as the Commonwealth’s lieutenant governor, Ralph Northam is finally introducing himself to voters. With less than two months until the Democrat primary and recent polls showing as much as 66 percent of Virginians haven’t heard enough about him to have an opinion, the far-left gubernatorial candidate has finally released an ad to explain voters who he is.
Unfortunately for Northam, the ad may have come too late to solve his campaign’s glaring challenges. Northam trails rival Tom Perriello in most recent polls and over half of his own party hasn’t even heard of him despite having served as the second highest-ranking elected official in the state for almost four years. Northam’s lack of political courage has also been on full display as he refuses to take a stand on Virginia pipeline construction even after Perriello and incumbent governor Terry McAuliffe have taken sides.
While Ralph Northam desperately tries to increase his name ID ahead of his party’s June primary, his largely forgettable role as Terry McAuliffe’s number two and his refusal to take a stand on issues of serious consequence to Virginia voters will continue to hinder his efforts, no matter how much money he spends on ads in a desperate attempt to catch up.

South Carolina families have saved $1.275 billion thanks to responsible, conservative governance.
Now, @henrymcmaster wants more. Cutting personal income taxes as much, and as fast, as possible.
That’s money directly in the pockets of South Carolina families! https://x.com/GOPGovs/status/2016910890621100310/photo/1
