Failed Democrat Governor Dan Malloy’s anti-business, anti-jobs and high-tax policies have been so catastrophic to Connecticut that residents are literally packing up and leaving. A new Hartford Courant editorial blames the state’s floundering economy during the years Dan Malloy has been in office for the disturbing trend of mass migration away from Connecticut:
“Whether it’s tax policy or real estate prices or job opportunities or the lure of warmer weather (or, more likely, a combination of the lot), Connecticut residents are being driven away.
Left unchecked, the trend will only worsen, as it’s worsened for the last half-decade. The continued erosion of residents is solid evidence that state economic policies need to be revamped, now…
The Census Bureau previously reported that nearly 30,000 more people moved out of Connecticut than moved in from July 2015 to July 2016. The most recent data show that the Hartford and Bridgeport metro areas together lost a net total of about 20,000 residents to other metros. The New Haven-Milford metro area lost about 6,800.
Since 2010, metro Hartford has lost nearly 47,000 more residents to domestic migration than it has gained.”
With the state literally falling into disrepair and prominent business departures leaving the state ranked 43rd in the country for business by CNBC, Malloy’s Connecticut is rapidly falling further behind as his failed policies take their toll on average Connecticut citizens. It becomes clearer with each passing day that new leadership is direly needed come 2018.
