Whitmer owns roads failure

On the campaign trail Gretchen Whitmer has promised that she would be the one to fix Michigan’s crumbling roads, but a scathing editorial from The Detroit News reveals what every Michigan driver already knows: Whitmer has failed to deliver, and has no plan fix the damn roads.

In fact, Whitmer’s only proposal to date has been a massive tax increase on motorists, double that of which she had previously called “ridiculous.”

“Gretchen Whitmer failed to live up to her biggest promise and Michigan families are paying the ever-increasing price of her failure as Michigan’s roads continue to crumble,” said RGA Spokesman Chris Gustafson. “Every flat tire created by Whitmer’s potholes becomes harder to fix every day under crushing inflation and record gas prices, and Whitmer is directly to blame.”

Whitmer promised she’d be the one who finally brought Michigan’s roads into drivable condition. She hasn’t done it.

The percentage of state roads rated in poor shape today is 40%, according to estimates from the Michigan Department of Transportation.
