Michigan gas prices continue to be well above the national average, leading police departments in the state to remove officers from the streets due to cost overruns.
Gretchen Whitmer had the opportunity to bring relief to Michiganders by suspending the 27 cent Michigan gas tax, but she vetoed the Republican proposal in April.
Now Whitmer is trying to save face by begging President Biden to suspend the 18 cent federal gas tax.
“Gretchen Whitmer has failed to deliver relief to Michigan families amidst the highest gas prices in American history and is now begging the White House for support,” said RGA Spokesman Chris Gustafson. “Instead of delivering real relief, Whitmer has vetoed multiple tax cuts for families and relying on Washington to bail her out.”Whitmer Hypocrisy: Vol. 27.2
