What They Are Saying: Minnesota Dem Gov Candidate Tim Walz Admits Obamacare Is Failing

New video released this week that shows Minnesota Democrat Tim Walz openly admitting that Obamacare is “failing” continues to attract national media attention. Unsurprisingly, Walz forgot to mention that he was among the 219 Congressmen to vote for Obama’s failed law, and despite its glaring issues, he never once voted to fix Obamacare on any of the dozens of occasions he could have done so. Walz’s comments prove he doesn’t deserve a promotion to governor and Minnesota voters won’t be forgetting them anytime soon. Here are some highlights of recent coverage:

The Daily Caller wrote on how Walz revealed that the Democratic National Committee has pushed him to tout Obamacare to voters despite its “warts.”

“Walz, who is running for Minnesota Governor, also revealed that the Democratic National Committee (DNC) has been pushing for members to defend the ACA, asking them to ignore Obamacare’s ‘warts.’ The video, posted to YouTube Monday, was taken May 12 according to a source familiar with its origin.”

The Washington Free Beacon noted that Minnesota has been especially burdened by Obamacare with double digit insurance rate hikes thanks to the law that Walz voted for:

“Minnesota has been hit hard by Obamacare, with the state’s health insurance markets said to be on the brink of collapse last year. State officials had already predicted back in September 2016 that insurance rates would rise anywhere from 50 percent to 67 percent.”

And in its coverage of the video, The Blaze mentioned that Minnesota’s own health insurance regulators have described the double-digit hikes as an ’emergency situation’ for the state:

“Minnesota Commerce Commissioner Mike Rothman, who regulates the state’s health insurance market, called the massive increase the result of an ’emergency situation.’

‘We worked hard and avoided a collapse,’ Rothman said in September, according to Bloomberg News. ‘It’s a stopgap for 2017.'”
