What Is Rhode Island Dem Gov Gina Raimondo Hiding This Time?

Today, failed Democrat governor Gina Raimondo is leaving Rhode Island for another out of state fundraiser. But despite requests by journalists to reveal the details about who she is raising money with and where the fundraiser is, her staff is refusing to provide any answers, saying they will only release names and dates for contributions with their quarterly filing on July 31:

This isn’t the first time Raimondo has been evasive about who she’s raising money with. During her trip to Chicago two weeks ago, her staff made similar attempts to stonewall reporter inquiries, using almost the exact same line: “Contributions to the governor’s campaign will be detailed in the quarterly report that will be released at the end of July.” After concerns were raised about potential conflicts of interest with Chicago Democrats, Raimondo reluctantly revealed that her fundraiser was hosted by former Playboy CEO Christie Hefner.

If Gina Raimondo and her administration are confident that these out-of-state fundraisers are “non-issues,” why is she repeatedly refusing to disclose who she’s raising money with when asked by the media? If she has nothing to fear, Gina Raimondo should stop evading these questions with the same canned response and come clean.
