During an interview with WECT, Lieutenant Governor Walter Dalton, the Democratic nominee for governor, said he wouldn’t rule out a tax increase if he was elected governor.
“Walter Dalton confirmed today that he would continue the same failed policies as Bev Perdue if elected governor, and that should worry North Carolinians,” said RGA communications director Mike Schrimpf. “Under the Perdue-Dalton administration, taxes have gone up, along with North Carolina’s unemployment rate. Today, North Carolina has one of the highest state unemployment rates in the country.”
“The last thing individuals, families and businesses need is the threat of yet another tax increase,” Schrimpf added. “Instead of running away from Bev Perdue’s failed policies, Walter Dalton has decided to double down on them.”
