VIDEO: New Hampshire Dem Gov Candidates Molly Kelly and Steve Marchand Double-Down On Hiking Taxes On Working Families

No matter which New Hampshire Democrat gubernatorial candidate wins their party’s primary, both Molly Kelly and Steve Marchand are committed to raising taxes on working Granite State families. At a forum last night at Dartmouth College, Kelly claimed that she has supported raising the gas tax and that she wants to repeal tax breaks implemented by Governor Chris Sununu that have helped spur economic growth:

MOLLY KELLY: “I have supported the gas tax and I believe that our tax breaks that we’re receiving, I would repeal those that Governor Sununu has implemented, and I would repeal those, thank you.”

Kelly’s support for raising the gas tax puts her in agreement with Marchand, who has been campaigning on hiking the gas tax for over a year and just this morning in a New Hampshire Public Radio interview made it unequivocally clear that he would do so if elected:

NHPR: “So, let’s talk about taxes then because Republicans have gone after both you and Senator Kelly, saying you basically never met a tax increase that you didn’t like. And they, for example, are saying you have proposed — or suggested — raising the gas tax, so what about that if you were governor would you raise the gas tax?

STEVE MARCHAND: “Yeah, I want to correct them. I did not suggest I’d raise the gas tax. I am saying I would raise the gas tax.”

As two far-left candidates committed to imposing costly tax increases on the people of New Hampshire, both Kelly and Marchand continue to demonstrate why they can’t be trusted to lead.
