New Hampshire’s Union Leader has issued a strong endorsement of Republican Chris Sununu for governor, noting that the state “desperately needs a governor who can get the mechanics of state government working again,” and how Sununu’s leadership as governor “would be a refreshing change at the State House.”
But also in the editorial, the Union Leader slammed Democrat Colin Van Ostern’s career as a partisan political operative and took note of his lack of management experience, stating that Van Ostern has “never managed anything larger than a six-pack of yogurt.” Van Ostern’s support for big government policies and weak leadership is wrong for New Hampshire.
“…Career Democratic operative Colin Van Ostern, has never managed anything larger than a six-pack of yogurt. He has relied on political patronage for his livelihood. As governor, Van Ostern would be a reliable funnel for taxpayer money flowing to liberal special interest groups. (Editorial Board, “Sununu For Governor,” Union Leader, 10/23/2016)
