After more than a year of campaigning, Florida Democrat gubernatorial candidate Gwen Graham still won’t give voters a straight answer on her support for a Single-Payer healthcare system.
While her Democrat opponents Philip Levine and Andrew Gillum have embraced Single-Payer, Graham has consistently acted like a typical politician and dodged questions on the issue.
A new study reported by the Associated Press shows that Single-Payer would cost $32 trillion and require massive tax increases on working families. The report comes only weeks after a similar non-partisan analysis in Maryland found that this radical program would require “significant” tax hikes, including a new $2,800 tax on every man, woman and child in the state.
With studies showing that Single-Payer would force unprecedented tax hikes on working families, tonight’s debate offers Graham yet another opportunity to weigh in on this issue. Does she support a costly Single-Payer healthcare system for Florida, and the significant tax hikes it would require? Voters deserve a straight answer.
