“Terry McAuliffe chose to stand by bad police”

“Politicians of the past”

“Terry McAuliffe made the problem worse”

“Terry McAuliffe chose to stand by bad police”

“He left Virginians behind”

These are just a sampling of the attack lines launched at establishment insider Terry McAuliffe at tonight’s debate.

When asked about support for law enforcement and ending qualified immunity, Jennifer Carroll-Foy did not mince words on Terry McAuliffe’s record on race. She accused him of staying silent in 2016 when a black man was killed by law enforcement and noted that McAuliffe told the ACLU he will “always” come down on the side of law enforcement. She also accused him of ignoring a school in a minority community when they asked for financial help while he was governor.

“Tonight’s debate proved that the attacks on McAuliffe’s less than stellar record on race are not going away,” said RGA Spokesperson Maddie Anderson. “McAuliffe has been repeatedly accused of stonewalling the minority candidates in the Democrat primary and assuming he is entitled to the Governor’s mansion due to his insider connections. Jennifer Carroll Foy’s latest attacks that he was silent following the death of a black man by a police officer and that he ignored communities of color asking for financial help are further proof that McAuliffe has some serious explaining to do to minority communities in the Commonwealth of Virginia.”
