Shades of Hillary: Montana Dem Gov Steve Bullock Caught Conducting Official State Business On Private Email Account

Breaking news from Montana this morning, where Montana’s Democrat Governor Steve Bullock has been caught conducting official state business on a private email account, further damaging his re-election campaign and creating the latest scandal on his watch. The Associated Press reports on the newly released emails:

“Gov. Steve Bullock’s office has released hundreds of pages of emails from the governor’s private account that deal with official state business. The emails released Friday show the Democratic governor used his private email for official communications on a wide variety of topics, from his proposed state budget and legislation to lighting the Capitol at night. Bullock spokesman Tim Crowe says Bullock is not available for comment. The release Friday was in response to requests made by the AP and other news organizations in December for Bullock’s private emails that deal with public business since his term began in 2013.” (Matt Volz & Bobby Caina Calvan, “Bullock’s Office Has Released Hundreds Of Pages Of Emails From Governor’s Private Account That Deal With Official State Business,” Associated Press, 5/6/2016)

It first came to light that Bullock may be using a private account for state business in December 2015, after emails were released surrounding the resignation of his second Lieutenant Governor:

“It first appeared the governor and other staff members were using personal email accounts to conduct state business after a batch of emails released last December included messages former Lt. Gov. Blatantly ignoring his pledge of transparency, Bullock’s latest betrayal of the taxpayer’s trust proves he is just another liberal politician working to mislead voters. His newest scandal contains shades of Hillary Clinton, who is currently under FBI investigation for using a private email account while conducting official business as Secretary of State.

Bullock is one of the few Democrat governors who won’t say who he supports for President. But after being caught using the same deceptive tactics, his connection to Hillary Clinton has been cemented.
