It appears that Maryland Democrat gubernatorial nominee Ben Jealous is misleading voters right out of the gate, claiming that Maryland voters don’t think they’re better off when they were four years ago.
During an interview yesterday with Wolf Blitzer on CNN, Jealous claimed that, “the majority of people in our state say that we’re actually not better off than we were four years ago.” Watch here.
In reality, a “record-high” 60% of Marylanders “say the state is headed in the right direction,” according to a poll out this month from the Washington Post.
Ben Jealous knows that he can’t run against Governor Larry Hogan’s record of accomplishment, so he’s resorting to misleading attacks right out of the gate in order to distract from his refusal to detail the costs of his radical spending plans. After nearly 100,000 new jobs and $1.2 billion in tax, toll and fee relief, Maryland voters see right through Ben Jealous’ misleading claim.
