Richmond Times-Dispatch: Ralph Northam Avoids “Yes-or-No” Answer On Pipelines

In spite of Democrat Ralph Northam’s efforts to dodge, evade, and even try to drive away from giving answers about his stance on pipeline construction, the issue continues to plague his campaign in the Virginia governor’s race. Even after several debates where he was asked to give a clear yes or no answer on his support for gas pipelines, Northam’s campaign is still either unwilling or unable to provide one.

The Richmond Times-Dispatch reports:

“The pipelines have loomed large in the June 13 Democratic gubernatorial primary, with the split between Lt. Gov. Ralph S. Northam and former Rep. Tom Perriello one of the few areas of daylight between the candidates.

Northam, who has avoided a yes-or-no answer on the pipelines, has fallen back on calling for a ‘robust and transparent’ approval process, taking credit for spurring the DEQ to assert more oversight over the contentious projects.”

While Ralph Northam has been uncompromising in his belief that Virginia voters do not deserve a straight answer from him on the critical issue of pipeline construction, his shameless display of evasiveness on the topic will continue to be a drag on his candidacy until he provides one.
