Under Democrat Governor Gina Raimondo, Rhode Island continues to fall further behind economically. Newly released annual state rankings by Wallethub rate Rhode Island as the 4th worst state to start a business. This is the second bottom 10 ranking for business that Rhode Island has received this year under Raimondo’s leadership after Chief Executive placed Rhode Island at 42nd for business in May.
Despite clear evidence that her policies are setting Rhode Island’s economy back, Raimondo has repeatedly tried to conceal her failures behind empty rhetoric, falsely claiming that she is “visibly improving” Rhode Island’s business climate. And earlier this year Raimondo’s staff were caught by the Providence Journal fudging state job numbers to inflate her administration’s stagnant economic performance.
As Gina Raimondo desperately tries to spin her failed economic record as a success in hopes of winning another term as governor, multiple state rankings consistently put Rhode Island in the bottom for business as its citizens see no signs of improvement under her administration. Rhode Islanders will not be fooled by Gina Raimondo’s empty words and will remember her failures come 2018.
